aka Cookies n Cream

Cookies and Cream is a well-balanced 50/50 hybrid strain, which is famous due to its sweet flavors and long-lasting harmonic high. It was also awarded first place in the High Time Cannabis Cup in 2014 in nomination for the best US hybrid. This strain represents a cross between Starfighter and an unknown phenotype of Girl Scout Cookies. The original breeders are Exodus Genetics.
The plant contains an average THC level that ranges between 23%-26% with a minor presence of CBD. It is the best for nighttime consumption, as it induces drowsiness and laziness, which always end in a pleasant, heavy sleep.
It is a great discovery for those who have a sweet-tooth because even its fragrance resembles sweet vanilla with a little note of sourness. At the same time, when burnt, the bud provides a smooth smoke, which surprises with a palette of creamy and toasted flavors. Also, the odor is pretty strong, so if trying to stay secret, it’s better to have proper ventilation.

What is the Cookies and Cream?
Cookies and Cream was originally grown by Exotic Genetix, a worryingly scientific name for such a down to earth, homeopathic company. Cookies and Cream has a very mixed genetic history, with its roots lying in the infamous Girl Scout Cookies. Its more recent parentage belongs to a loose cross between the Starfighter strain and an, as of yet, unknown Girl Scout Cookies phenotype.
Cookies and Cream took home the first place prize in the hybrid category of the 2014 Denver Cannabis Cup, essentially the Olympics for marijuana at the time.
Cookies and Cream is a hybrid, meaning it contains properties of both a traditional indica as well as a sativa. This allows it some versatility with regard to its effects, making it more of an everyday strain rather than a dedicated indica or sativa.
Cookies and Cream belongs the Cookies family, meaning it is one of the myriad of descendents of the Girl Scout Cookies Strain. This grants Cookies and Cream a certain factor, a certain history that is not too dissimilar to drinking a very aged scotch from an ancestral brewery – it has history, character, and a long line of genetics all leading towards the very bud you have in front of you.
Cookies and Cream Aroma
Imagine yourself going out into a garden early in the morning. There is an earthy scent in the air is refreshing. Now, blend the sweet smell of vanilla, and the result is one of the best smelling odors among cannabis strains.
Cookies and Cream Flavors
As good and refreshing as it smells, Cookies and Cream also has a wonderful taste. Unlike its namesake where the flavors are rich, perhaps too rich for many people, this cannabis has a more mellow flavor that is smooth to smoke and the nutty aftertaste makes it a delight to use.
Cookies and Cream Effects
So, what makes Cookies and Cream so special among the thousands of cannabis strains worldwide? Consumers report that the onset begins with a mental high that is uplifting. As the effect intensifies, there is a heightened sense of focus, and at the same time, mood changes to one that is euphoric.
The mental high continues to intensify as you begin to feel happy and energetic, but not to the point of being psychedelic. This is followed by the physical body high which balances the mental high.
The sedative property of its Indica side calms your body down without causing you to feel lethargic or leave you in a couch-lock. These balanced highs are what makes the Cookies and Cream one of the best hybrids in the world.
Cookies and Cream Side Effects
Using Cookies and Cream might increase the level of anxiousness to those who have anxiety disorder illnesses or concerns, as well as those who are predisposed to such. Should this occur, then most likely it is because of overusing.
Other than that, a common negative reaction would be dry mouth and dry eyes, both of which are common with using cannabis.
For Cookies and Cream, that unfortunate side effect is dry mouth. Though this is pretty common, especially among powerful hybrid strains, Cookies and Cream gives the user a pretty intense dry mouth that might leave you puckering your lips more than you would want to.
However, this unpleasantness is easily offset by the intense rush of euphoria and relaxation you feel, so it is a pretty even trade. Additionally, dry eyes and dizziness are commonly reported side effects, all easily solved by sitting in a warm room with a glass of water and enjoying your relaxation.
Like many high-THC strains, some users can report instances of anxiety and paranoia as a result of taking Cookies and Cream, so make sure you watch out for those frequent sad consequences of marijuana rearing their ugly heads.
Medical Benefits of the Cookies and Cream Strain

- CBC: 0.05 – 1.12%
- CBG: 0.12 – 1%
- CBN: 0.07 – 0.28%
- THCV: 0.43 – 1.17%
As great as the Cookies and Cream strain is, it also has a downside. For medical cannabis users, this is a great strain to use in reducing stress. But if you have an anxiety disorder, then this is not the right strain to use, or use one with less trichomes.
Used in a small amount, this strain could reduce stress, however, if one were not careful, it might also elevate the level of anxiousness.
By far the most frequently cited usage of Cookies and Cream is its ability to help tackle stress. It can help reduce overall stress, both chronic and incidental, as well as just generally making you feel a bit better about yourself. It is also used to help treat depression, as well as pain, though this is as much to do with its THC content and the effect it has on the endocannabinoid system.
Though all cannabis strains with a decent quantity of THC have the ability to help treat those with depression and chronic pain, certain strains are just better at it than others.
Thanks to Cookies and Cream’s combination of relaxation and a high THC content, it is well suited to helping treat unpleasant mental disorders and general bodily pain.
Overall, the medicinal benefits of Cookies and Cream are exactly what you would expect them to be – the strain is all about relaxation, enjoyment and a great taste, so it makes sense that its principle medicinal effects are to do with mental health.
Not a lot of information are available on growing Cookies and Cream. We do know it can be grown outdoor, but it seems to thrive better indoor. It does respond well to using soil or hydroponics and by harvest time, should give a decent yield.

Cookies and Cream is simply one of those strains that lives up to its megalithic reputation – it possesses a unique and distinguished flavor, a sound history of genetics, and brilliant medicinal and relaxation effects.
The only real downside with Cookies and Cream is that it is a real pain to try and grow yourself, due to its tendency to grow too tall, or not at all due to poor weather conditions.
However, if you can get your hands on some from a reputable breeder, look forward to a powerful, sweet sensation of euphoria.
I like this one. It’s not my favorite but it definitely helps my mood and my focus. It’s a really nice smoke it’s sticky and gets you really baked. Great for unwinding after a long day of work. Helps with stress & insomnia.
It’s an Indica. With notes of Hindu Kush and few purple hues. Will cause you to sleep walk to the refrigerator during the course of your hibernation.
