Lemon OG  Marijuana Strain

Lemon OG Marijuana Strain

Presidential Kush or Lemon OG Kush

is a hybrid cannabis strain, 60/40 Indica. The strain has some distant Kush relatives so it can smell like skunk or have diesel fuel undertones. The THC level ranges between 17 and 24 percent with a neglible CBD at just 0.13 percent.

Lemon OG

Lemon Kush may be a couple of different strains with distinct genetics. Though, you’re sure to get a musky sweet lemon aroma from each of them. Mostly indica-dominant, this balanced hybrid is the perfect way to relax.

All About Lemon OG

The cone-shaped buds of Lemon OG may only be moderately covered in trichomes, but the abundance of deep orange and brown pistils almost makes up for it. Lemon OG’s scent is highly distinguishable, being lemony of course, but also having that skunky accent that OG strains are known to produce. Despite its overpowering and sometimes soury scent, its taste is much sweeter and can surprise users on the exhale.

THC levels of Lemon OG commonly rest around the low 20’s. It tends to have higher levels of the terpene beta caryophyllene, which in some studies, has been linked to similar effects of cannabinol or CBN. Beta caryophyllene may contribute to the “body buzz” sensation that many consumers talk about, as it interacts synergistically with other terpenes and compounds in the human body to relieve pain and inflammation.

This may be why many Lemon OG enthusiasts have reported the strain’s potential in relieving both pain and inflammation, sometimes resulting in better sleep or reduced stress. Some that try this strain have report a better mindset as stress-filled thoughts or anxiety unrelated to pain are alleviated. Still others have used Lemon OG to help with nausea or to increase appetite. Lemon OG may also have potential to help those that suffer from appetite loss due to pharmaceutical use.

History

Lemon OG is a cross of The OG #18 and Las Vegas Lemon Skunk, and it can reach as high as 22% THC if grown correctly.

DNA Genetics, a popular seed company founded in 2004, bred the original Lemon OG by crossing a true Las Vegas Lemon Skunk cut with the OG #18 cut. What resulted was an abnormally high calyx to leaf ratio flower with an uncanny lemony fuely taste and smell. In the ten years since the company’s inception and Lemon OG’s birth, both have been successful, winning plenty of awards.

Aroma and Flavors

The delicious fruity/citrus Kush smell is rare and genuinely special. If you grow Lemon OG you will find it a real pleasure to spend time in the grow room with your plants and enjoy the sweet lemon aroma. There aren’t too many leaves in the blooms, which makes trimming the generously sized buds easy. You will need to wear gloves during harvest, as well as an unmistakeable lemon fragrance you may find your hands also have a strong skunky Kush smell which is hard to remove!

Mostly though, Lemon OG is bred for an unmistakable lemon taste and smell. It is the lemoniest of the crosses being bred, and since users like the lemon, expect the strain to become more lemon and less kush/skunk/diesel, increasing its terpene profile of limonene while phasing out the taste of Kush. Lemon OG may appear to be a paler green than other strains and it may even look yellow. Buds are sticky and the plant has white or orange trichomes, the plant’s appendages.

Lemon OG Medical Usage

The strain’s THC profile makes it suitable for the medicinal patient and the recreational user, but Lemon OG’s smaller CBD profile, like most cannabis strains, is not suitable for some of the more intense disorders like seizures. Strains with higher CBD content have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-anxiety properties. Generally, these CBD-rich strains have over 4 percent CBD.

Medical users like the sedative effect of Lemon OG that helps with appetite and stress. Other uses include bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, and OCD. People undergoing chemotherapy may appreciate the strain for relieving nausea and increasing appetite.

Lemon OG Kush has several medical uses, making it an indispensible strain in the medical cannabis scene today. This hybrid has proven itself useful in managing chronic pain more effectively, allowing patients who suffer from back aches, migraines and muscle spasms to find relief.

This hybrid can also alleviate strong and chronic feelings of stress, inducing a more reliable state of relaxation in long suffering patients. Lemon OG Kush is potent without creating a couch lock, making it an ideal choice for sporadic users especially, as it will not threaten to make them feel overwhelmed by it.

  • Medical consumers often find that this strain eases headaches and knocks stress out of the park
  • Those with depression and anxiety tend to like this mellow hybrid, though you may experience a little paranoia if you consume too much
  • Both of the most common Lemon Kush varieties have a fairly high THC content. The Master Kush variety has even reached levels over 20%. Though well-balanced, this strain can be quite potent — novice marijuana consumers should be aware when consuming in large amounts

Lemon  OG Effects

Recreational users rave about the quick-acting psychoactive effects. Some say that the smoke is clear and the strain offers a relaxing, uplifting, and creative experience that begs the user to go out and do something. One person reported that it was a good mid-day experience; his focus improved at first and he got some pain relief later.

This hybrid can induce a definite state of euphoria, making you feel like you are soaring high and staying lifted for much of your high. Lemon OG Kush is definitely a fitting choice if you are craving for a little positivity in your day, as this delicious strain can make you feel happy and giggly.

  • chronic joint, back pain;
  • attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder;
  • chronic stress;
  • bipolar disorder;
  • depression;

  • multiple sclerosis.

Multiple terpenes (bisabolol, sabinene, ocimene, phellandrene) interact in the human body relieving pain and inflammation

Lemon Kush Experience

A few different strains go by the name Lemon Kush, including the popular Lemon Kush Headband. The most famous is a mix of Master Kush and Lemon Joy. However, another hybrid may include mixes of Afghan Kush and Lemon G. Both of these versions are Indica-dominant, but they provide ample Sativa effects. Expect a fairly balanced mix of a heavy-bodied physical high with a calm, elevated mood.

There is at least one variety of this strain that has Sativa-dominance, but the exact lineage is a mystery. You’re more likely to run into the Indica hybrids listed above. Though the common Lemon Kush strains may be Indica-dominant, don’t expect significant couch-lock from this strain. This variety creates a relaxed, easygoing vibe that’s perfect for a slow afternoon.

Lemon Kush is a medium-sized Kush that branches well and benefits greatly from early training and/or pruning. Internodal spacing is greater than stockier Kush varieties, although buds are just as resinous and tight as you would expect from a Kush. Organic cultivation followed by a good curing of buds is recommended to bring out the best in this tasty Kush. Outdoors in a hot dry southern climate, the Lemon Kush can be very productive.

Flowering is typically 8-10 weeks with the more sativa phenotypes taking the longest to reach harvest. Plants are relatively uniform with some height variations to be expected when growing from seed. Relatively easy to clone too, should you discover a keeper mom. Lemon Kush is a well-balanced hybrid with 20%+ THC levels.

Sativa and Indica lovers will enjoy smoking this strain. It can be used by both creative individuals like artists, who need to get their work done perfectly, and people with various ailments. Because of its potency and quick effects, Lemon OG is recommended to intermediate and experienced users.

    Love the super calm relaxing vibe from first hit. I took too many hits from the Volcano vape earlier today and I did panic for a little bit but it went away almost as fast as it hit me. The relaxing feeling feels so warm and calming that if you were having a panic attack this would make it hit zero in zero point 2 milliseconds. I take nice medium long hits and I slow it down with this one to maximize the life of the high. The taste is lemony with a slight fruity hint. Every hit is a yummy warm blast… So smooth…So Rich… I would advise using ice water in a bong for this sweet cold rush straight to the head. This strain makes me feel so high without sacrificing the brain, I can clear focus on anything I need to do. I could get away with this one if I needed to work or perform in front of others. I feel like this strain is good on the anti inflammatory and pain side of the house that you could probably have an awesome workout using this strain.
